Jamie Fox

I have worked as an analyst and consultant for over 20 years with more than half of that time spent on syndicated, off-the-shelf reports, although in 2025 and 2026 the custom research and strategic consulting became the majority.

I gained a BSc (2.1) in Physics and Astronomy and an MSc in Nanoscale Science and Technology from The University of Sheffield in England and then travelled and lived abroad for a few years. I worked at IMS Research from 2006 to 2012, IHS Markit from 2012 to 2019, Informa (under the Omdia brand) from 2019 to 2020 and Interact Analysis from 2020 to 2026.

I was a Research Director at IMS Research and IHS Markit but became a Principal Analyst in 2014 after I exited the management route when moving to Chile to work remotely for family reasons. The fact that I live in Chile means I can offer significantly less expensive rates than someone with a similar experience and track record who lives in the UK, US or Europe.

LEDs and other optoelectronic components were a major area of coverage for me from 2006 to 2020, but since 2020 I have mostly focused on electric components, vehicles and equipment, particularly trucks, buses, construction equipment, tractors and forklifts. In addition to electrification, I covered hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen ICE vehicles and equipment.

In my career I have sold and produced nearly $5 million of reports and services, helping customers to refine strategies, benchmark against competition, and find opportunities for growth and investment. I have focused on high-quality data and research that stands up to investigation, and achieved very strong customer feedback consistently.

My top skills are writing, obtaining non-public information, doing interviews and producing reliable data including forecasts. I will do a good job of the research and then let the results speak for themselves.
